This 6.5 hour CPD day will provide practising non-domestic energy assessors with hints and tips for improving non-domestic EPC ratings calculated for both existing and new-build structures. Focusing on little nuggets that can make a big difference, this course will help you understand the key data inputs which, when collected, can make a significant difference to the final rating calculated for a commercial, industrial or agricultural building.
This CPD day is very practical in its outlook and SBEM will be used to show how collecting the right extra data can help gain those few extra points required to make an important difference to your EPCs. In addition to understanding the key factors involved, you will uncover the circumstances in which the effects may be positive or negative.
During the session delegates are encouraged to share any queries they have or difficulties they have encountered. There is also an opportunity for questions and discussions formally during the day and informally over lunch.
During the day you will cover:
- Buildings types
- Weather locations
- Modular building date (new build)
- Heavy / light internal partitions
- Kappa values
- Floor corrected U-values
- Solar gain
- Thermal bridges including roof lights
- Zone activities
- Power factor correction
- Specific fans powers (SFPs)
- Standing losses for hot water systems including secondary circulation
- Lighting including display lighting, output characteristics and associated controls
This programme is intended for practising Non-Domestic Energy Assessors providing EPCs.
Upon successful completion of this programme delegates will have updated their knowledge and practice to reflect new developments in the field.
